Poor Quality: Digital Display Dying after 3 Years

The digital display is dying after only 3 years of normal home usage. This is unacceptable for a high-end appliance. Now I either need to replace it or purchase a new control board. Pulling the power cord out for several minutes didn't work (per one tip on the internet). It also hasn't been heating evenly. No more GE appliances for me.

My first GE Microwave lasted many years until it quit (possibly from the stress of many power outages). I replaced it with the current model of the same microwave. At least one of the functions on the new one failed almost immediately. The replacement microwave for the new, failed microwave is now working fine.

This purchase was a replacement for our prior GE Profile microwave. Unfortunately, the height of the new model is 12.3™ while old model was 11™. We had to hire a cabinet maker to increase the height of the cabinet opening. Costly endeavor.

I had the old version. The Bezel screwed into the microwave itself, very easily and it was snug to the microwave and it fit perfectly. This version has a Large Gap around the microwave and you have to Drill 4 holes into your cabinet in order to hold it directly to the cabinet. Who came up with this Ridiculous Improvement?

ok replacement for GE Monogram ZEM115SJSS

We had a ZEM115SJSS for 11 years, I've repaired it twice due to some of the door latch switches going faulty or misaligned. Third time was the charm, have replaced it with this PCHK11S1WSS model. It was a fraction of an inch wider than the old model and was challenging to fit into our pre-built opening, but it fit. Functionally it seems identical to the old model except for 1) child lock, which we disabled 2) no ability to mute the beeping sound and 3) WIFI capability. I'm struggling to imagine when I would operate the microwave via WIFI rather than the keypad, this sounds like a gleam in a product manager's eye. However we did prefer to have our microwave muted. You can drop the WIFI from future models and bring back sound muting please.

We bought this unit to replace a Spacesaver II model that worked well for 24 years (!). This one fit the same space as the old one, with the added feature of a turntable, which the old one didn't have. We particularly wanted a unit that sits on a standard 12" deep upper cabinet shelf. This Profile operates similarly to the Spacesaver; pretty basic but that's fine for our use. The door of the Profile feels a bit "tinny" compared to the Spacesaver so I'd have expected the Profile to be noisier during operation, but it's actually significantly quieter. We've been using this unit for only about a week but so far it's fine. The main disappointment so far is that it doesn't appear to have a feature for turning off the sound, which the Spacesaver had and which many other GE microwaves seem to have. I've tried the different suggestions I've found online. I downloaded the manual for this model, but it doesn't mention a mute feature. Not the worst problem, but it's nice to be able to do that when you're the first one up in the morning and others are sleeping. Frankly, it'd be a much more useful feature, in my opinion, than being able to connect to Wifi! Overall, I'd say this is a good basic machine with dimensions that make it useful where other machines wouldn't fit as well.

The control panel is very hard to read-small font and not bright enough to see without lights on In the kitchen. The titles for the defrost cycle are not at all understandable or helpful. We™™re not happy with our GE Profile microwave.

While the microwave works well the quality of the stainless steel is not as good as my previous GE Mircowave. It is much harder to remove fingerprints. Also, I don't understand why GE doesn't make caps to cover the screws on the top side of the cabinet frame.

I do not have a counter top model. I have the under cabinet model. It had to be installed twice as the first install, by seasoned installers, made the door off kelter . They had to uninstall to determine if the unit was faulty and then reinstall. I like my old model, purchased in 2008 much better. Controls are simpler. And why does one need a child lock for an under cabinet mount???

Perfect size and dimensions leave usable counter space. When my old GE model finally died after 15 years, I was so relieved that this model in the same size was available. A few differences however.: The timer signal only rings once when time is up. The older model repeated the signal at intervals until timer was turned off. If one is out of the kitchen or distracted and doesn't hear it that one time signal, it's a problem. I wish this could be corrected since we use the timer frequently. I like the lower wattage. The old one used to trip the fuse circuit if my countertop electric oven on the same circuit was turned on. This one doesn't have that problem.

It does service its purpose, because we don™™t rely on a microwave for everyday use. The microwave we replaced was 17 years old. With that being said, things aren™™t made like they used to be. On this microwave , the lights are dim, the letters are smaller, and it just doesn™™t have the juice our other microwave had. For us it serves it purpose.

I had only this option for available space. * Reheat function by type does not work well. Soup setting for example does not get soup hot; Pkate setting heats too hot. Can™™t pause reheat and then restart-you get Error code and have to start all over. *I previously had GE Advantium which I loved. It was built in. I wanted to buy the new model but some ™genius™ engineer increased the specs by 2™ so the new Model did not fit in my space. So disappointed!

I have been a kitchen designer for over 40 years. I have used this GE model in probably more than 60% of kitchens that I have done because of it's unique size. In my current home this is the third one in about 20 years. Perfect size, easy to use and it clears the counter space. My only issue is ,they have gotten ridiculously expensive now $500!

It is,the only microwave that fits in my space. Only 13 inch deep and 24 wide makes it perfect for cabinet depth. This is the second one I had to buy. The first one lasted only 28 months, then started grinding and cooking really fast, then really slow. I bought warranty for this second unit. Really expensive at $475

Bought this microwave because it is shallow enough to fit in my cabinet and does not require venting. Works as expected. Slightly annoying to have to push cancel button before it will open after cooking. Fingerprints easily but it is hidden in cabinet so not overly troublesome to me.

Disappointing replacement

This replaced an older version of the same microwave. This microwave did not sit well within the new trim kit, which was required for the newer model, and required adjustments. The reduced wattage is disappointing and doesn't pop popcorn well. The lack of color differentiation on the control panel makes it difficult to read. I wish the timer feature could beep more than once. It would be nice if it was several beeps every 10 seconds for a minute or indefinitely, like my ge profile oven. I'm sorry I didn't read reviews before I purchased this microwave. Instead of feeling like a replacement with enhanced improvements and features, it feels like I got less than I had before.

Not sure if what I got is a lemon... the package was re-sealed when received. The mounting holes (to mount under the cabinet) is not straight, the right side is slanted. The door does not close properly, I need to push on the top part of the door to close. It won't close if pushed in the middle nor bottom. the plate seems to be too close to the door not really in the middle which might be the reason for the door. Not worth the price. This is the last GE I will purchase.

This is third GE undercounter microwave in 25 years. Have always been pleased with product. Maybe will take sometime to get used to and maybe last one was 900 watts and not 800 I'm not sure. Does fine with most things but not happy with how it cooks popcorn. My old one would pop nearly all the kernels except 5 or six in just under 3 minutes. When trying this with the microwave we have now it will burn the popcorn badly and still will have 30- 50 kernels unpopped. Love popcorn and would have most nights but now it's a drag to make and doesn't taste very good. My dentist probably glad I don't eat as much anymore.

We cannot use this microwave unless we have a certain size cup to heat water or a certain size bag of popcorn to pop our popcorn. In what world is this normal? I wouldn't have another one of these microwaves if you gave it to me.

I was prepared to accept the small size and low power to have a cabinet depth microwave. The touch panel is not a touch panel - it's a press panel used on low- cost microwaves. Too much force required. Does not come across as a Profile level appliance from GE. If it's used on the counter, which I eventually won't, the unit tilts forward with the slightest pressure on the open door.

We purchased this microwave to relace the same model under cabinet mounted microwave. It is difficult to find a microwave with same dimensions. Additionally, the last GE microwave in our house lasted 9 years. Good buy for the money.

My old GE Profile microwave was manufactured in 2011 and I replaced with GE recommended replacement model. I was unsure whether it would fit in existing kitchen cabinet but had no problem. I spoke with several customer support representatives about the replacement model and was happy it worked out.
